A brilliant example of the richness of Turkish regional cuisine, ali nazik is dearly loved and widely available in the country’s southeastern parts. It’s a dish that most people interested in Turkish cuisine will be familiar with, yet it’s rare to find outside of its home region.

Ali nazik is widely considered to hail from the city of Gaziantep. A couple of years ago, the Turkish patent office even granted the local municipality a patent for “Gaziantep alinaziği”, or “Alinazik from Gaziantep”.
