Welcome to Meze, where we explore the wonderful recipes, history and food cultures of Turkey and the Middle East, from famous classics to hidden gems and modern interpretations. With a rich history spanning centuries of interaction between empires, religions and ethnicities, there’s so much more to it than hummus & kebab!
Behind the keyboard and camera (and occasionally in front of it) is Vidar Bergum, food writer based in Istanbul since 2015. I’ve published three cookbooks in my native Norway and also run the blog A kitchen in Istanbul.
